Orphan presents the first English version the 2008 TV special, Kiku-chan to Ookami (Kiku and the Wolf). This is the seventh show in Shin-Ei Animation’s Sensou Douwa (War Fables) series. It is considerably expanded from a short story by Nosaka Akiyuki, who also wrote The Grave of the Fireflies. It is a bit lighter in tone than the other specials in this series, but it still packs an emotional wallop. For more information, see this blog entry.
