[Chihiro] In the Land of Leadale 01 [1080p Hi10P AAC][4B6A2082].mkv (448.6 MiB)
So… after hours of going over this episode, I strongly believe that “Onee-chan” (when Lytt refers to Cayna) should stay as “Miss” since Lytt is an employee addressing a customer.
As for the line at 20:00 (“You’re pretty amazing for a little girl.”), I think it should be either
“You’re amazing for such a small young lady.”
Lottor was referring to Cayna being very strong, despite looking so unassuming. He was not erroneously calling her a child/kid.
Cayna then reinforces this by saying she has high stats.
At the end of the episode, Lottor serves Cayna alcohol. He would not have done so if he thought she was a kid.
“You’re strong for such a small young lady”
It sounds like Lottor said “Jou-chan tsuyoin da na.” more than “Jou-chan sugoin da na.” I think the word “sugoin” (amazing) was actually “tsuyoin” (strong), since he was referring to her surprising strength.
And shortly after that (at about 20:23), Cayna tells Lottor to call her “Cayna” and not “Jou-chan” (which you translated in that instance as “kiddo”). It’s clear that Cayna dislikes being called “Miss” since she’s actually a teenager and feels she is being called old.
And it seems that “Miss” is also most appropriate for how most background characters refer to her when they say “Jou-chan/Ojou-chan” (like the random guy at the inn, and the soldier in town).
ANYWAYS, I LOVE your subs (you did AMAZING work on Taisho Otome Otogibanashi, by the way) and I’m just contributing my language skills to determine the most correct/appropriate/analogous terms for the translation. Hopefully you don’t take this as me being just another complainer. I seriously put a lot of thought into this.

@fuee Nope. Chihiro’s show is Fabiniku for this season. This show is something I’m doing solo w/ a QC.
